FAQs

General Practitioners or family doctors provide primary healthcare, diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions. They manage overall health, offer preventive care, and coordinate specialist referrals if needed.

You should visit a GP for general health concerns, chronic condition management, preventive care, vaccinations, or when experiencing new or ongoing symptoms that require assessment.

Yes, visits to a GP are covered by OHIP, provided you have a valid health card.

If a follow-up is necessary, you can schedule another appointment to monitor your progress, review test results, or adjust treatment plans as needed.

Regular health check-ups are important for early detection of potential issues, monitoring existing conditions, and maintaining overall wellness. Your GP can recommend a schedule based on your age, health history, and risk factors.
